Errors - undefined elements in JADE

I am getting a bunch of errors from JADE when I try to run it on my
document.  It tells me that it can't generate a system identifier for my
DTD, then declares every one of my elements to be "undefined".  (sample of
error at end)

JADE is processing the document just fine, though I suspect that this is by
virtue of the fact that it is well-formed and does not strictly need the
DTD to generate the flow object tree.  It is annoying to have pages and
pages of error messages and I would like to resolve this somehow.

My command line call includes a reference to a catalog file which contains
the proper DTD file.  So why can't it generate a system identifier?

Any ideas?
