This may have already been pointed out (sorry, I haven't been paying close attention to this thread), but you _can_ get different width columns by use of the n-columns-spanned characteristic. Obviously, this only gives you control over the _proportion_ of the table that each column takes up, but it's better than nothing. Richard Light.
