Subject: Recommendation re: Softquad Author/Editor From: "Kendall G. Clark" <kendall@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 4 Mar 1998 10:41:46 -0600 (CST) |
Does anyone use Softquad's Author/Editor (the new version, preferably). I like using XEmacs (PSGML mode) to markup my SGML documents, but I have a large number of rather complex tables that need to be tagged, and I'm not the world's leading authority on CALS syntax. I noticed that Author/Editor has a visual table editor and before I spend $700, I'd like to hear from anyone who has used it and can recommend/review it for me. The people at Softquad that I've spoken with seem really nice, but their opinion is going to be, understandably, a little one-sided. Alternately, if anyone can recommend some other editor or package that does this job better than, or is cheaper than, Author/Editor, I'd appreciate hearing that too. Thanks.
