Wrt processing the DSSSL spec per the ISO DTD -- I used DSSSL to
produce the DSSSL Digest
(ftp://ftp.ornl.gov/pub/sgml/WG8/DSSSL/digest.htm ), which means I
have a style sheet which transforms a non-trivial part of the spec to
something more tractable. You're welcome to the style-sheet as a
starting point.

The reason I'm posting this to the whole list is the answer to
your second question

The answer is to get someone in the US to front your question to James
Mason, chair of SC4 [masonjd@xxxxxxxx (James David Mason)], who
maintains the right to distribute the electronic version: see
http://www.ltg.ed.ac.uk/~ht/dsssl-spec.html for more details on the
copyright issue.
