DSSSList, year one

The DSSSList started on March 25, 1997, so I am pleased to announce
that the DSSSList is one year old today!!

The success of the DSSSList has exceeded my expectations.  Before the
list started, I estimated 100-200 subscribers and 10-20 messages per
week.  Today, we have approximately 480 subscribers and there have
been over 2,000 messages.  This in one case where I am glad to have
been wrong.

The premise on which the DSSSList was founded remains true:

   The DSSSList is provided as a means to bootstrap DSSSL usage --
   people using DSSSL helping other people using DSSSL so new users
   can avoid common pitfalls and we can increase the spread of DSSSL
   knowledge rather than have every user having to learn everything in
   isolation.

I would like to thank all of the subscribers and all of the posters to
the DSSSList for contributing to its success.
