Jade supports a good subset of the full DSSSL query language (SDQL).

DSSSL-Online is really a subset of the full DSSSL standard (not just the
query language). It was intended to be a minimally usable subset of DSSSL
that could be used for presenting SGML documents on a web browser. I think
that you would need more than what is in DSSSL online to do SGML
transformations. Fortunately, Jade implements much more than just
DSSSL-Online.

Jade implements a superset of the "core query language" defined by the DSSSL
standard. This is really quite usable for most purposes.

I think that right now, Jade (http://www.jclark.com/jade) is your best bet.
Henry Thompson has implemented something called the DSSSL Syntax Checker
(which is more than just a syntax checker)

Solutions, Inc. is working on a Java based DSSSL environment called Seng
