David Carlisle <davidc@xxxxxxxxx> writes: > jadetex uses the latex graphics package to include such files, [...] OK, but does it do it right? (I've tried to read the JadeTeX source to figure out what it really does, but I don't know TeX intimately enough.) My problem is that EPS files don't seem to be treated right. If I say (with DocBook and Norm Walsh's style sheets): <Graphic FileRef="clientserver.eps" Format="EPS"></Graphic> ...then the entire EPS file gets inserted into the Postscript output at this point, with all the structured comments. This looks great in Ghostview (with Ghostscript, that is), but our Lexmark printers abort with an error message after drawing the graphic, but before continuing to draw the text following it (a stack underflow during an 'exch', although I don't think that's particularly relevant: the structured comments are what's doing it, because manually removing those (or, better, leaving just the "%%BoundingBox:" one in the EPS file for TeX to read) will cause it to work just fine). Is it the Lexmark Postscript interpreter that's buggy? This would not really surprise me: we've seen several other bugs in the damn things. This is with JadeTeX 1.05, Jade 1.1.1 plus the June and August sets of JadeTeX patches, Norman Walsh's style sheets version 1.10, the graphics package as of 1997/12/01, LaTeX2e 1997/12/01 patch level 2, and a recent web2c-based TeX installation, using dvips to generate the Postscript output. -tih -- Popularity is the hallmark of mediocrity. --Niles Crane, "Frasier" DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist
