[Didier Martin:] | I am doing a test with Jon Bosak files he used for a XML demonstration | in France. The goal was to demonstrate the multi lingual facet of | XML. He showed a Japanese XML document transformed into a RTF document | with a DSSSL script. I downloaded the examples but I am having trouble | executing the DSSSL script on the file. Please accept my apologies for not putting together a better package. I had forgotten just how tricky it was to set up these examples. To see how I made the RTF files (which is probably not the simplest way it could have been done, but it worked for me), try the directions below. The files were made back in May of last year, but I believe that they are identical to the ones that I used in the presentation you saw. Jon ======================================================================== To build the examples under Windows 95: 1. Get the latest version of Jade from http://www.jclark.com/jade and install it some place. Put that place in your search path. 2. Get the file http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/sun-info/xml/eg/en-ja-eg.zip and unzip it into a directory. 3. Set the following DOS environment variables: SET SP_ENCODING=UTF-16 SET SGML_CATALOG_FILES=catalog SET SP_CHARSET_FIXED=YES 4. The files e.bat and j.bat assume that jade has been installed in the directory \jade\jade. Change as appropriate for your system. 5. Run e.bat and j.bat to create the English and Japanese RTF examples. Note that the Japanese language support for Word has to have been installed to view the files. The Japanese language support is included on the Word97 CD, but it has to be installed separately from Word97 itself. DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist
