It's been a while since I did the compile, but I believe the configuration
was as follows...

Jade 1.1.1 (SP 1.3.1)
AIX 4.2
native AIX C compiler (xlC)
CXX=xlC -O
DEFINES=-DSP_ANSI_CLASS_INST -DSP_MULTI_BYTE $(XDEFINES)
CC=xlC
CFLAGS=-O $(DEBUG)
