Hello Peter, On friday, april 23, you wrote: PSH> I'm using a DSSSL program of my own to format XML files written for a DTD of PSH> my own, using Jade's RTF backend to generate output. Is this a Jade bug, or an unavoidable Word 97 bug, or something PSH> that I can change in my style sheet? That's a Word97 bug, but not a fatal one. You can possibly tweak it somehow in the stylesheet, as Richard Light has advised here. But if you intend to print your document, then leave everything as it is. The fact is that Word97 looses underscores only on screen (but not in print). It does not draw them (due to some bug in font metric calculations, or whatever), still it works out fine on hardcopy.
