Side-by-side formatting in DSSSL?

Hello,

I am attempting to output something like this from a DSSSL style sheet that
is running on OpenJade 1.2.2 to RTF:

title	paragraph one.
	paragraph two.

but I am unable to make it work.  I would prefer not to use a table (my
content model contains block elements including tables) .  Has anyone done
something like this before?
