Time ago I asked this list about the Lout backend for Jade in order to
generate Postscript/PDF in a more simpler way than using TeX. May be now is
the time of think seriously with this possibility. We are using Lout with a
Jade DSSSL to obtain Postscript and PDF as a workaround while no backend
exists. BTW, the only drawback that i found in Lout last version (3.17 ?)
is the lack of support in the including of Images( GIF, TIFF, JPG,..) inside
a PDF output. I think a Lout and Jade "integration" will be nice.
