(dsssl) table-cell spacing

Subject: (dsssl) table-cell spacing

I am using openjade and creating tables. I would like to solve two
problems. First, the contents of the cell touch the top border and I have not
been successful in adding a margin. The cell-after-row-margin seems to add
space between the cell contents and the bottom of the cell, but the
cell-before-row-margin does not appear to have an effect. I have also
attempted to add space before my paragraph and this doesn't seem to make
a difference.

Second, I would like to be able to vertically align the contents of the
cells. If I have a paragraph that spans more than one line in the same row
as a paragraph that only requires one line, the one-line paragraph is
aligned at the top of the cell.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Lane.
