Subject: (dsssl) OT: parsed vs event model From: Kendall Shaw <kshaw@xxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 21 Aug 2001 13:25:36 -0700 |
Hi, I hope this is not seen as an abuse of the list. I'm trying to describe the value of groves/DOM etc. vs. event model parsing and I find my self unable to come up with much other than contrived examples. Can you give examples of common situations where it is useful to have access to: 1. Children before their content has been processed. 2. Right siblings, right siblings of an ancestor etc. 3. Children of a parent's/ancestor's left sibling etc. I think handling colspec/spanspec in a CALS table is an example of 3, but I'd enjoy reading other examples.
