If you have bytes with value 0 in your file then are you sure that
the file is not in utf-16 (in which case every second byte will be zero,
if the file only uses ascii characters) If so this is wrong:

> setting SP_ENCODING=utf-8 didn´t help. Jade is still producing errors like:

you want to set it to utf-16 not utf-8.
