Also available in DSSSL as a jade extension, but only as parameter of
the simple-page-sequence flow object (that is, you can't change the
number of columns inside a page).

(declare-characteristic page-n-columns
   "UNREGISTERED::James Clark//Characteristic::page-n-columns" 1)

Only as an extension in Jade as well. I'm not sure, but this may be
possible without an extension in a full page-sequence, but
page-sequence are still not available in OpenJade.

(declare-flow-object-class page-footnote
      "UNREGISTERED::Sebastian Rahtz//Flow Object Class::page-footnote")
