Hello,

In my DocBook documents I use <xref> links to refer to <biblioentry>. In order to control the text represented the reference and to have it consistent through all the document I used to use "xreflabel" attribute of <biblioentry> and fill it with some symbolic abbreviation of the publication name or similar. I was said, and agreed that simpler number references will look better (in form of [1], [2] etc). Is there any way with jade and DSSSL to further automatize the process, such that the numbers would be generated automatically, according the sequential number of the publication's <biblioentry> element in the <bibliography> element, instead of just changing symbolic references to numbers and then supporting the right sequence manually?

I do not really care about keeping my xref and xreflabel based scheme, so if anyone has any technique for automatic numeration of bibliography references in DocBook, please let me know.

Thank you,
Pavel
