Subject: Re: [jats-list] Element to hold translated short title From: Debbie Lapeyre <dalapeyre@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 19 Dec 2012 13:27:24 -0500 |
Are there any plans to add a <trans-alt-title> to the DTD, or can I just add another instance of <alt-title> with an xml:lang attribute?
Using ,alt-title> in this way is very much in the spirit of JATS. There can be many reasons for an alternate title: a short version for a Table of Contents or running head, an ASCII-only version for texting, etc. Another language seems like a perfectly good reason to me.
You can keep the @specific-use the same on the two <alt-title>s and make the @xml:lang different. That would not be difficult to write processing for.
