Franziska,

<inline-formula> is allowed in <source> in the Archiving Tag Set.

Would it be difficult to write an JATS-archivearticle1.dtd DOCTYPE into this
article and process it through your system?

Ibm sure you use a subset of the Publishing Tag Set (business rules). This
article would follow the same business rules except you could have
inline-formula in source.

Hi Franziska,

This might be a reasonable change for the JATS DTDs/schemas to allow
<inline-formula> within <source>. Would you be interested in submitting a
change request? It could also be helpful if you can include some examples of
the titles that you are trying to tag in <source> in the change request.

like angle brackets, so XML examples could be uploaded as an attached doc.)

This doesnbt really help if you are trying to tag content today, but if this
change is included in a future version of JATS you will be able to tag
formulas in <source> without resorting to workarounds.

Dear all,

webre using JATS Journal Publishing DTD v1.1.
Sometimes, we canbt avoid having equations within article titles or book
titles as part of bibliographic items/references (element-citation).
This works for <article-title> since <inline-formula> and <mml:math> are
allowed, but when using this for book-titles (<source>), these elements are no
longer available.
Do you have any experience how to deal with that?
