Dear all,
I have two questions concerning the BITS format, and I hope that someone here
would be able to shed some light on the topic. I am a member of the team
working with WHO. One of the things we developed was an online reader based on
eLifeLens open-source application. Our online reader can read and display JATS
files.

Our goal is to enable the reader to read and display BITS files as well,
allowing users to read books online.

Question 1: Are there existing BITS converters for eLifeLens?
eLifeLens is an extendable application. It uses a so-called "converter" to
read a specific file type. eLifeLens comes with an in-built converter for
JATS, but I could not find a converter for BITS. It would be a waste of time
and resources to develop it from scratch if someone has already done this job.
Any ideas?

Question 2: Are there existing readers that can read both JATS & BITS?
If I cannot make eLifeLens understand BITS easily (ideally by re-using an
existing converter), one option would be to replace the online reader. I
noticed that NCBI seem to have a reader capable of displaying both journals
and books. Perhaps their reader is what I am looking for? Could anyone here
advise by first confirming my observation (that they can indeed display both
JATS and BITS) and second by elaborating a bit on their reader and its
potential for reuse?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
