We're doing something a bit like this with our report-writer, but the first release is likely to be only able to handle XML/XSL that we've output. It's also not going to include anything like forms, just GUI output and printing. The intent is to allow the report-writer to save documents which are then edited/reprinted by the user. The UI is Mac and Windows and we can output RTF and HTML. Due to the lack of fo in XSL we're going to have to define too much of our own stuff right now to be widely compatible.
