Links in XSL

After a weekend of fairly discouraging discussion on the XLink mailing
list, I have a simple question for the styles community:

Is anyone (XSL or CSS) working on tools for determining which connections
in a link are traversable?

Effectively, this means moving beyond the presentation of link ends to
determining which link ends should be presented and what their behavior
(i.e. where you can go, if you can go) should be.

A strong opinion on at least one sector of the XLink list is that this is
the responsibility of the style sheet, not the link.

Just curious...
