Subject: Defeating the MS patent on styles From: David LeBlanc <whisper@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat, 06 Feb 1999 12:02:22 -0800 |
If anyone is interested in setting the groundwork for defeating the Microsoft patent on styles, it's pretty simple to do. Those people having knowledge of prior art (as was mentioned in earlier posts) can ammend the patent with this information. This can be done without the patent holder's knowledge or consent, but I don't know if it's without cost to ammend a patent (I think it is without cost). In the short term, this has no effect, but in the longer term when someone does get around to challenging the patent, all the ammendments would have the effect of putting the Patent holder in the position of having to prove the validity of the patent. I may be able to get additional information on how to do this if anyone is interested. Dave LeBlanc XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
