It has come to our attention (thank you Emmanuel!) that the script on our web site for diagnosing the Microsoft IE5 XSL engine production of HTML did not emit files using the correct character set.

This turns out to be an issue related to the use of the Windows Scripting Host built-in functionality using the IBM Code Page 850 character set.

This has been rectified and the script has been updated to emit the generated files correctly. Using this script, one can generate a file of HTML equivalent to the HTML displayed by IE5 when engaging an XML file with an XSL stylesheet. This is important because using the browser View/Source function will show only the XML and not the generated HTML.

This is useful when:

(1) - the script behaviour is not as desired and it isn't obvious what is happening on the browser canvas
(2) - one wishes to create static HTML files using the same IE5 scripts used for dynamic on-the-fly HTML creation

Information can be obtained through the free resources section of our web site linked in the trailer below.
