Subject: Newbie Q: diff b/n XSL and XSLT? From: Flint Weiss <flintw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 18 Aug 1999 13:59:50 -0700 |
hi all, i am fairly confused between XSL and XSLT and hoping someone would help me out. i see how XSLT can be used to "transform" an XML hierachy into a non-xml format -- like html for example (i've tried this). i'm not quite sure how you might use XSLT to transform one XML tree into another XML tree. XSL's long list of CSS style formatting tags makes it look like you could create an new document hierarchy based around formatting constraints (instead of data constraints). i guess you might feed this into some 'standard' XSLT templates for converstion HTML/CSS? i just don't quite get it :-< thanx in advance, flint weiss XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
