You can take a look at Objectdesign's Stylus, it's a visual XSL editor. I haven't tried it, but it's one of the few XSL editors out there. (see http://www.xmlsoftware.com/xsl) Using client side XSL is not really an option at the moment. The only browser with something like XSL support is IE5, but they use a very outdated version of XSL (December 98 working draft). If you want to use XSL to generate a web page that has javascript, that's possible.
