Linda <?xml version="1.0"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:baan="http://www.baan.com/xml"> <baan:data> <baan:lang code="us" desc="English">English</baan:lang> </baan:data> <xsl:template match="/"> <!-- does not work --> <xsl:variable name="lookup" select="document('')/baan:data"/> <xsl:value-of select="$lookup/baan:lang/@desc"/> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
