An input of <years title="year" century="20th" month="April" Day="Thursday"/> and an input of <years month="April" century="20th" title="year" Day="Thursday"/> are quite likely to produce the same source tree, on many parsers. If you want to extract the attributes in some order do <xsl:value-of select="year"/> <xsl:value-of select="century"/> ... David XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
