Oh, I see, I missed your point :)  Yeah, you don't have control over
prefixes in the output.  Saxon happens to use "xsl" if that's what you used
for the XSLT namespace in the input.  xt uses the alias prefix ("out") in
the output.  Implementation-specific.

This has been noted by several  people, Xalan does not alias the prefix, as
it is not required.  Mike Kay
makes note of this as well in his book,  pg 234, last paragraph.  That
'feature' is implementation-specific.
