I like to see "Thanks" messages on the list.  Besides raising the general
level of graciousness, it gives recognition to the unselfish souls who give
freely of their own time to help us out.

On the other hand, we should try to avoid quoting more than the very
smallest bit of the previous post when giving thanks.  That's what pushes
up the bandwidth.
