Subject: Fw: syntax question: using a variable inside format-number() From: "Alex Aguilar" <alex@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2000 13:51:58 -0800 |
Actually, <xsl:value-of select="format-number(concat('/AssetAnalyzer/',$curcat),'#00%')"/> I believe will work. I just realized the value of $curcat was not always matching the value in /AssetAnalyzer/$curcat what I mean is $curcat was being set to a value of "Domestic Equity" but the full path of the element I was trying to get to is /AssetAnalyzer/domesticEquity so I have a little reorganizing to do ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alex Aguilar" <alex@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 30, 2000 1:32 PM Subject: Re: syntax question: using a variable inside format-number() > $curcat contains a string value like "cash" or "domesticEquity" so calling > format-number() on it wouldn't work. > > the elements /AssetAnalyzer/cash or /AssetAnalyzer/domesticEquity contain an > actual number like 12.5 which I want display as a percentage (12.5%). > > I tried: > > <xsl:value-of > select="format-number(concat('/AssetAnalyzer/',$curcat),'#00%')"/> > > > the result I got was : > > concat('/AssetAnalyzer/',$curcat) NaN > > where I expected the percentage to appear. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Steve Muench" <Steve.Muench@xxxxxxxxxx> > To: <xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Thursday, November 30, 2000 8:08 AM > Subject: Re: syntax question: using a variable inside format-number() > > > > | It returns a nice percentage.
