Subject: [xsl] External Linking Question From: "Betty L. Harvey" <harvey@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2001 10:23:22 -1000 (HST) |
The previous post reminded me of a problem that I have been struggling with and can't find a resolution. Unfortunately, I think there may not be one |-(. I have to use MSXML and IE 5.0 so the namespace is "http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl". I have a book with chapters in separate files. All the bibliographic references are in the backmatter (another separate file). If I put the entire book together links aren't a problem but this is very inefficient for the reader. I can also link the references to the backmatter without a problem. What I would like to do is to be able to go back from the reference to the chapter and the location in the chapter where the user came from. Is there anyway to pass a variable "chapter#" dynamically to a file that is being open? If there is a mechanism to do that, my problem would be solved. Thanks!
