Subject: RE: [xsl] TransformerFactory.newInstance()..is it needed every time? From: "Kevin Duffey" <kevin.duffey@xxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 28 Feb 2001 07:14:13 -0800 |
Thank you. I changed it to reflect this. Should at least keep x number of objects being created now that I only need one instance of it. I do use the template.getNewTransformer() ( I think that is the call..off the top of my head) to get a new transformer for each xsl transformation from the cached Templates object. Seems to work. I just hope its thread-safe and fast! :) > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:owner-xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Vasu > Durgavarjhula > Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 10:28 AM > To: 'xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' > Subject: RE: [xsl] TransformerFactory.newInstance()..is it needed every > time? > > > You can use a single instance of TransformerFactory to create multiple > template objects. > > However you need a new transformer (by calling a transformer for > a template) > for each transformation. > > -Vasu > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Kevin Duffey [mailto:kevin.duffey@xxxxxxxx] > > Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 12:20 AM > > To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > Subject: [xsl] TransformerFactory.newInstance()..is it needed every > > time? > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > In looping through X number of XSL pages, trying to create a > > Template object > > for each, I am doing something like: > > > > TransformerFactor tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance(); > > Template t = tFactory.newTemplate(xslSource); > > > > So I ask, is it necessary to create a new TransformerFactory on each > > iteration?
