It depends ;-)

The XML-processor (used by your XSL-T) processor is allowed to do wide
space stripping. It it does you're lost. Otherwise you could use a
recursive template to match for sub-string-befor 0xA, rest. Output
substring
<BR/>
process rest recursively.
