In my XSL file i have :-

<xsl:param name="myParam"/>

This tells the transformer to expect a parameter called myParam.

In the application i wrote I just use transformer.setParamter("myParam",
"this is the value");  now thats in Java (Xalan-J), your implementation will
differ..
