The RFC makes a simple error though. In asking "why foo", they fail to see the obvious origin of the word. It's from the French "foutre". Which means exactly what the F in FUBAR means. Nothing German at all, except for the fact that they started the war that got us over in France in the first place. American doughboys brought back many corrupted French (and German) phrases but that's a discussion for another list.
