I have not tried it isolation. Unfortunately, I've run out of time to
track this down--I was hoping there was a simple answer. Here's the FO
output for the flow in question:

The baselines are not aligned as you witness, so something in the ancestry must be affecting your results, or perhaps even in your page geometry (though I can't think of what). Put the contents below into a file and you will see the baselines are not aligned.
