Yes I tried that but what I want is a way to ignore <BOOK> tags that aren't
in the <BLOCK> tags.
If the xml contains any <BLOCK> tag then it should work only with <BOOK>
inside the <BLOCK>s and ignore those that are not.

 <xsl:choose>
  <xsl:when test="./BLOCK">
  <xsl:call-template name="Title"/>      <------- the problem is that this
apply-templates doesn't work
  <xsl:apply-templates select="BOOK"/>   <------- nider does this
  </xsl:when>
  <xsl:otherwise>
   <xsl:call-template name="BookHeader"/>
   <xsl:apply-templates select="BOOK[not (@destaque=-1)]"/>
  </xsl:otherwise>
 </xsl:choose>
