Yes, I should have held my ... 

I'd not viewed template matches in that way.
It only triggers when a match occurs,
and ditto keys.
I used the context argument from those occasions when
I sit here wondering why template X isn't triggering,
only to find out that because I've included a default empty template
the template in question is never being triggered.
