Hi Declan,

Glad to be of help. But it seems to me that you might have a further
bug. If the first node generated by your stylesheet is an "HTML" node,
then the processor should automatically drop into HTML mode in the
absence of an <xsl:output> instruction. Since this didn't happen, I
assume that the first node in your output document is NOT an "HTML"
node. In which case, what you are generating isn't actually valid
HTML!!!

Rgds,

Dan.

It was indeed (a). Thanks a million Dan and Micheal. I had commented out
	<xsl:output method="html" indent="no" encoding="UTF-16"/>

Thanks again,

Declan

In XML, this is a correctly closed tag - note the "/" before the last
">". I'm no HTML expert, so if you are saying that this is NOT valid
HTML, then either

a) You have not told the XSLT processor that you require HTML output.
If you had, and <textarea ... /> is not valid, then it wouldn't output
it.
