Hi Sorin,
try this:
...
<xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">
<![CDATA[<]]>!DOCTYPE Book PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook V4.1//EN"
"/usr/share/sgml/docbook_4/docbook.dtd"<![CDATA[>]]>
</xsl:text>

Please don't try this! Don't use disable-output-escaping if not necessary! Jarno gave already the best alternative.

I didn't. The other method (of Jarno) seemed much more professional...

But another question:

I've got a docbook-table and I have to specify the number of columns with the tag <tgroup cols="5">

The number of columns depend on the xml: that's how I get this number:

<xsl:variable name = "years">
<xsl:value-of select='count(energiebericht/energieverbrauch/@jahr)'/>
</xsl:variable>

But How do I put this value into <tgroup cols="?"> ???
