You're a victim of Pernicious Mixed Content (mixing marked text and unmarked text in inappropriate circumstances, which is basically
anything except normal paragraphs of running text). If you have any control over the document type, get it changed to:


 		<finish>
 			<style>Almond Decorative</style>
 			<hold>no</hold>
 		</finish>

or something like. Then you can access the data much more easily.
Using XML for categorical data requires a different approach to
using it for normal text.
