Mark,

<xsl:template match="column/row">...</xsl:template>

The match expression here says "match row elements that have column element parents" (it doesn't match rows with other parents).

Or,

<xsl:if test="parent::column">...</xsl:if>

tests if the parent node of the context node is a column.

Are either of those any help?

Cheers,
Wendell

In the xml I have row node which is inside column node

In xsl what is the most efficient way to check if the
row node is a child of column ?

Thanks for the help.
