In terms of readability, I'd go for the xslt style?

Probably because its 'xml' syntax that I recognise,
i.e. familiar ground.

More a question of readability and ease of generation?
  I can get tool help to use choose... otherwise,
I can't writing plain strings in attributes.
My 2Euro's worth.
