Many people use xhtml as the "different namespace" so no real conversion is necessary, just a simple stylesheet that copies the xhtml as itself and makes some kind of display of the xsl bits. a simple setup using this are my mathml stylesheets eg http://www.w3.org/Math/XSL/mathml.xsl which may be formatted using http://www.w3.org/Math/XSL/xsldoc.xsl to produce some html.
