It is not the shortest possibility, but that's the way XSL is doing this:

<xsl:choose>
  <xsl:when test="...">
    if stuff
  </xsl:when>
  <xsl:otherwise>
    else stuff
  </xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
