Subject: [xsl] [ANN] Saxon 8.1 From: "Michael Kay" <mike@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2004 12:44:27 +0100 |
Just a quick note to let everyone know that Saxon 8.1 is available: http://saxon.sf.net/ (open source version) http://www.saxonica.com/ (commercial version) There are large numbers of changes but most of them taken individually are minor. The commercial licensing has been made more flexible, in particular there is a reduced price if you want XSLT or XQuery but not both. There are now added goodies in Saxon-SA beyond schema-awareness, most notably an extension to support higher-order functions. This has been used on the XQuery side to provide access to facilities equivalent to XSLT's for-each-group and analyze-string. This release was developed in collaboration with Stylus Studio, and includes features designed to enable improved debugging and diagnostics when Saxon is used from within Stylus Studio.
