Hi There, i need to work out whats wrong with the way i'm writing the above statement: The follwoing statement works ok and produces values for me: <MyValue> <xsl:value-of select="//exec[@stepid='S001']/dds/dd[logical/@id='SORTOUT']" /> </MyValue> But if i write it like so it deosn't: <xsl:variable name="temp_id" select="SORTOUT" /> <xsl:variable name="temp_step" select="S001" /> <MyValue> <xsl:value-of select="//exec[@stepid=$temp_step]/dds/dd[logical/@id=$temp_id]" /> </MyValue> How can re-write my statement using vars? thanks pg Visit our website at http://www.ubs.com This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the individual named.
