[xsl] doc() and temp trees as xinclude processor?

Subject: [xsl] doc() and temp trees as xinclude processor?

I just had a thought after working with the doc() function in XSLT 2.0:

Instead of using an external xinclude processor to resolve xincludes, why not just do all in XSLT by using a temporary tree?
