Actually Mid (can I call you Mid?) this is a very appropriate question to ask on this list as if not for this question I wouldnt have thought to look at Amazon to find out if Jeni Tennison's 2.0 title was available and apparently you can preorder it now. Given the best-selling staus of her "Beginning XSLT" 1.0 title I wouldnt rely on the fact that there will be plenty when its finally released so "why worry about it".. trust me, the pre-orders get filled first and the rest will wait for the next shipment to come in once these titles have long since been delivered. Probably a good idea to order it now such that APress has a good feel for how many they should print during the first run and how many should be delivered to Amazon to arrive and be ready to be shipped once the "official" launched is announced. As you probably are aware Jeni has a content focus and writing style that is geared towards taking the knowledge that Dr. Kay provides in his titles and applying this to a real world scenario and explain it in such a way that in the end it will seem as if the knowledge was already there it just needed to be dusted off a bit such that your brain receptors could make the proper contact with the processing portion of your brain... I have often wondered what would happen to the world if Jeni were to write a tutorial on the process involved in cold fusion as undoubtedly when complete we will simply understand it... "I wonder what would happen if I took this and this and ..." Jeni, based on the vision I just had of the world on a "cold fusion high" please don't write this tutorial... Assuming there is no such tutorial in this title this is something I am in process of pre-ordering as we speak... In all seriousness I have no doubt that like her 1.0 title along with Dr. Kay this title will be a mandatory part of your XSLT 2.0 study and reference material... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1590593243/qid=1111056261/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/103-2106677-5534224?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Thanks Jeni! I know you couldnt tell even if you knew so I want ask when this will be released and will simply anticipate the email from Amazon telling me its on its way :) Cheers, <M:D/> On Thu, 17 Mar 2005 21:26:19 +1100, Dimitre Novatchev <dnovatchev@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > It's simple as this: > > You'll lose 1 year (of your life) if you wait for the final > recommendation and only then buy Mike's book. > > Cheers, > Dimitre Novatchev > > > On Wed, 16 Mar 2005 21:11:40 +0530, Midsummer Sun > <midsummer.sun@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > This question is for Michael Kay ! > > > > I already have Michael Kay's book "XSLT 1.0 2nd Edition, Programmer's > > Reference".
